Scholarships

Applications open for top in late January and will be awarded by the first week of April.

CPCE Scholarship applications will be open in the middle of April and will be awarded first week of June.

Vince DeFinis Scholarship

Honoring the Legacy of a Pioneer in Hospitality Leadership

The Vince DeFinis Scholarship celebrates the founder of the first NACE chapter—Philadelphia/South Jersey/Delaware—and his enduring commitment to education, innovation, and excellence in the catering and events industry.

This scholarship is designed to support undergraduate students pursuing a career in hospitality who demonstrate outstanding leadership, academic achievement, and professional potential.

Evaluation Criteria

Applicants are evaluated on:

  • Scholarly Merit
  • Professional Endeavors
  • Career Goals and Objectives
  • Essay Submissions
  • Letter of Recommendation

Membership in NACE is not required to apply; however, active NACE members will receive additional consideration during evaluation.

Award Overview

ONE recipient will receive a career advancement scholarship package valued at more than $9,000, designed to provide both educational and professional development opportunities.

Scholarship Package Includes

  • $4,000 for tuition
  • 2025 NACE Experience registration (excludes Conference Plus Package): up to $1,300
  • 2025 NACE Experience travel (airfare/hotel – room share): up to $1,000
  • 2026 NACE Evolve registration: up to $575
  • 2026 NACE Evolve travel (airfare/hotel – room share): up to $1,000
  • One-year prepaid local NACE chapter meeting fees: up to $500
  • One-year NACE student membership: $55

The Jo C. Dermid Scholarship honors a beloved and influential member of the NACE community—a true pillar of the hospitality industry. Known for her warmth, mentorship, and unwavering dedication, Jo inspired countless professionals throughout her decades-long career.

This scholarship, endowed by the NACE Nashville Chapter in her memory, celebrates her spirit by supporting emerging and established professionals who embody her passion for hospitality and commitment to excellence.

Membership in NACE is not required to apply; however, active NACE members will receive additional consideration during evaluation.

The Foundation of NACE CPCE Scholarship is a turnkey opportunity that covers everything you need on your path to becoming a Certified Professional in Catering and Events (CPCE).
This scholarship supports professionals who are ready to take the next step in their careers—those who are passionate about elevating industry standards and demonstrating mastery in their craft.

Whether you are a seasoned event professional or an emerging leader, this scholarship removes financial barriers and provides the resources to help you achieve one of the industry’s most respected credentials.

Evaluation Criteria

Applicants will be evaluated on:

  • Professional Endeavors and Experience
  • Commitment to Continuing Education
  • Career Goals and Objectives
  • Essay Submission

Award Overview

One recipient will receive a comprehensive CPCE Scholarship package designed to fully support their certification journey—valued at up to $800.

Scholarship Package Includes

  • CPCE Application Fee
  • CPCE Exam Fee
  • Fast Track Registration
  • Study Materials and Resources

Funding is for first-time exams only and does not cover retesting, recertification, or renewal fees.
Applicants must have received a letter of approval from NACE National prior to applying.
