• Demonstrate leadership, professional commitment, and a desire for career advancement
• Be enrolling in, or currently pursuing, educational, certification, or professional development opportunities relevant to the hospitality industry
• Agree to meet all application requirements and deadlines
Eligibility may vary by scholarship. Additional criteria, including education level, professional experience, or geographic location, may apply to specific awards such as the Vince DeFinis, Jo C. Dermid, and CPCE Scholarships.
Applying is simple and done entirely online:
Review eligibility requirements for each scholarship.
Complete the online application during open periods in January or April.
Submit required materials, which may include:
A personal statement or essay
Resume or professional history
Letters of recommendation
Watch for notification after the review and selection process is complete.
All applications are reviewed by a committee focused on merit, leadership, and commitment to the hospitality and events industry.
Once selected, recipients are notified directly by the Foundation of NACE and provided with next steps to accept and receive their award.
Funds are distributed in one of the following ways, depending on the scholarship or grant type:
• Direct payment to an educational institution, certification program, or approved vendor
• Reimbursement for pre-approved expenses related to tuition, certification, travel, or professional development
• Conference, exam, or program registration paid on behalf of the recipient
All funds must be used for approved educational or professional development purposes and within the specified award period. Recipients are required to provide documentation and may be asked to share impact updates with the Foundation.

One recipient will receive a comprehensive CPCE Scholarship package designed to fully support their certification journey—valued at up to $800.
Funding is for first-time exams only and does not cover retesting, recertification, or renewal fees.
Applicants must have received a letter of approval from NACE National prior to applying.
